weekend getaway

We packed up the car on wednesday and headed off to Canandaigua Lake, NY. Nathan had a business trip, so jackson and I tagged along for the hotel! I am sooo glad that we did. It was beautiful. I am so bummed though, b/c i didn't check my battery life b/4 we left on the camera and i was unable to take any pics b/c the camera was dead! boohiss!! Anyway, i will see if i can pull off any pics from the internet for you. www.visitinnonthelake.com
We stayed at a resort called the Inn on the Lake and it was magnificent! Jackson and i spent our days at the outdoor pool and hung out with a group of 20 or so seniors who were part of a social club that vacations together and have been doing so at this resort for the last 15yrs!! They were a blast! Anyway, we enjoyed the pool, walking around the lake and jackson LOVED all of the ducks around - not to mention all of the older ladies that ooed and awed over him! It sure is nice to have a friendly child! He just waves at everyone who passes by. I have had to tell myself not to get offended when people ignore him and don't wave back! :) i mean, how rude is that!! LOL

So, tonight we are off to the local highschool for fireworks and then tomorrow we have an abbreviated day at church (and the angels rejoiced!!) with just a morning service and a picnic lunch afterwards. That will be nice. Then later on that night we head off to Lancaster for the annual Fireworks there. It is a really big deal and we enjoy going! I will enjoy it even more since it will only be 78 and low humidity! :)

what are you doing for the fourth??

Sounds like you had a great time at the resort with a busy time celebrating the 4th coming up.
We won't be doing much this week other than going to our town's celebration, and then we'll have the Northland Proclaimers at our church on Friday. Those are our plans.

Sounds like you had a wonderful little getaway!! I am sure it is nice to be able to travel with Nathan like that!! Your plans sound like fun for the 4th of July.

We are not doing much. The little town that we live in has a parade and then a carnival during the day ending with fireworks at night. The kids are really looking forward to Wednesday that is for sure. Our church is having an I LOVE AMERICA Sunday tomorrow and midweek services on Tuesday. It is our last Sunday at our old church building. Next Sunday we move to a new church building and we are having a big picnic afterwards!! I can't wait for all of it to happen!!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the holiday! Hopefully it stays cool out...I remember being prego in the middle of the summer...not always enjoyable that is for sure.

Sounds like a great getaway for all of you! I love tagging along with Matt to his conferences - though our hotels aren't nearly as nice-sounding as your inn on the lake. Let me know how Jackson does with the fireworks! We're not doing much, a local parade and then a guy down the street does big illegal fireworks every year that we watch. Whoopee!

A bunch of us Americans are getting together out here in Germany and bbq-ing. That'll be nice, but I don't know if we'll see any fireworks.

so funny....I just had a dream that I went shopping with you in some discount store. Everything in the crafts department was on sale. They were trying to eliminate it 'cause too many people were stealing the crafts. Weird. Anyways you introduced me to a bagel shop with HUGE bagels. Even more weird! Isn't that funny?
