Happy Mother's Day

ok, I am stiill in the hospital and this is being written in the midst of a seemingly unending feeding session of our

NEW BABY BOY JACKSON CHASE ROHRER!!!

Sorry that it has taken me a whole DAY to post this (LOL) but I am madly typing in an effort to not be kicked off the hospital phone line that we have hijacked for blogging purposes!!

Jackson was born on Mother's Day - how fitting! It was looooong, loooong, looong - but God was (is) so good and I will get you the birth story when I get home sometime (Christina..you'll LOVE it!)

He was 7lbs, 15 oz
20.5 inches long
and was born at 3:51pm on Mother's Day.

The sweetest little guy with a TON of hair - we'll see if it ever morphs into a fro! :)

Here are a couple pics - i'll post more later! Please don't be offended if you haven't received a phone call yet, hope that you feel just as important to us via the internet!
I can't upload the pics here - here is the hospital birth announcement online - you can go look at it here and I'll post pics when i have regular internet.
Mother's Last Name: Rohrer
Secret Word: jackson

Jackson is so SO handsome! I'm so happy for you and SO impressed that you're blogging in the hospital! You take care of yourself and don't worry about us blogging friends. Get your rest mama! We're praying for you these next few days - I hope they're sweet despite some sleep deprivation. :)

He is so beautiful! And you look wonderful! Congratulations! Now get some rest & let everyone help you out. You'll have 18-21 years of doing it on your own, so take advantage! :) We're so happy for you! Prais the Lord!

Shyla,

He is beautiful...or I guess I should say handsome. I don't say that about every newborn I see, but he really is a cutie. Congrats to you and Nate. I must admit that we'll be waiting with great expection your return to the blogging world, but take it easy girl. I absolutely loved that newborn stage, so just focus on enjoying him.

oh my goodness, OH MY GOODNESS!! i am so excited. i have been DYING to get online and our computer has been kaput since mother's day. and i was SOOOOO praying that he'd come on momma's day too! what a special gift from God. ok, girl...get some rest and then DISH! i am so curious now about the birth story. :) btw, he's adorable...and i don't just hand those out willy nilly! i'm not all about newborns (i was even a little skeptical of connor for the first few hours :) let's just be honest they've been through a lot and some of them look a little funky for a long time! alright, you need to get some sleep! take advantage of his nap times. don't be stupid like me! :-)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! AND PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!

Congratulations Shyla and Nathan!!!!! He truly is a beautiful baby, and looks so alert for being a newborn! To echo what most everyone else has said, get plenty of rest and enjoy every minute with your precious little one! Looking forward to reading the story and seeing more pics later . . . Take care and have a wonderful day!

Congrats Shyla! What a beautiful baby! Enjoy these first few days with your little one and we can all wait for the story. We all know your sleep deprivation with midnight feedings, etc.

p.s. One more thing. The best piece of advice I got was from Carrie Valentine was "You're the mom and God will give you wisdom to do what's best for YOUR child (despite what anyone else thinks!)" Praying for you these next few days also!

Hi Nate and Shyla,
Congratulations! He's so gorgeous! Isn't birth such an amazing miracle? There are just no words to really describe it. I was thinking about you the past few days and wondering if you'd had your baby yet, and Becky Dillabaugh brought us the news tonight! I know you'll be enjoying every moment with your sweet little Jackson. I echo what Shannon said about God giving you special wisdom. That advice has been a blessing during the times I've felt overwhelmed! Enjoy your baby, baby yourselves, and get some rest. (I know the labor process was just as hard on Kevin as it was on me!) I'm excited to hear your birth story when you get a chance to write it. We'll be praying for you all.
Love,
Beth

Congratulations, Shyla! How perfect, born on Mother's Day! That is when Bryce's Birthday, May 14, and every couple of years it falls on mother's day. How special! Hope all is well and you are enjoying your new baby Jackson!

CONGRATULATIONS! What a perfect, beautiful baby - I would have to echo some of the above sentiment - I'm not always crazy about newborns (I even told Mike that if our baby is an unattractive newborn, I will be able to admit the fact! LOL), but no worries with Jackson - he is darling!

Congratulations Shyla! Becoming a Mommy on Mothers day. . . it doesn't get much better than that!

Congratulations!!! Being a mom to boys is one of the most exciting and most adventurous blessings! Enjoy every second, b/c they get so big so fast, and then they watch the Pistons 24/7 with their daddy--and then when you ask them who discovered electricity? They say "Ben Wallace". Not that you need a reminder, but make sure you write down everything; mommy brains are like mush after a while. I love the name Jackson, and I can't wait for him to go 5-pin bowling with Macaulley and Griffin! Love ya
