Merry Christmas 2009

As we look back over the past year, we are truly grateful for all the Lord has done for us.

In March we welcomed Olivia Adeline to our family. She is now 8 months old and has proved to be a bright spot in our family! Liv spends the majority of her days smiling. We are sure that she must go to bed at night with sore cheeks from all of her smiling! She is crawling, climbing stairs and feeding herself Cheerios. Olivia is a joyful addition to our family.

Owen turned 2 in August. He is a great little boy. Although Shyla wondered how Owen would do with a new baby, he has welcomed his baby sister with open arms! He loves her so much and enjoys helping to take care of her. He has even renamed his favorite sock monkey “Adeline” and takes care of it as if it’s his own baby. Owen is all boy. He enjoys playing hard outside and being dirty. He started Puggles (a club in AWANAs at church) this year and has enjoyed learning more about God and interacting with his friends. Owen has a tender heart and we pray that the Lord will use that in a mighty way someday.

Jackson turned 3 in May. He had his first birthday party with just his friends. He wanted a Thomas the Train theme and enjoyed a fun time eating a train cake, decorating hats and jumping in a bounce house his friend brought to the party. Jackson loves learning. In September, Shyla began doing preschool with both of the boys and Jackson loves it. He is in Cubbies at church and really enjoys learning his bible verses and doing the activities in his Cubbies book. He is playful and active and a big helper to Shyla. You will often find Jackson working on a “project” and keeping himself busy pretending he’s at his office, riding his bike or working in the yard outside like his daddy.

As you can imagine, Shyla is busy with three little ones 3 and under. She enjoys being a mommy to these little ones and is grateful to God for the happiness they bring to her life and for the responsibility she has been entrusted with in raising them to be godly adults. She is involved in many aspects in her church and has recently started a young mom’s group. In her spare time J Shyla enjoys all things girly! With the entrance to another pink member of the household, she has enjoyed expanding her creativity to making hair bows, baby bracelets, and accessories for her online store www.browneyedgirlies.etsy.com.

The Lord allowed Nathan to move into a new position at Precept Marketing Group where he has worked for the last 5 years. This has been a wonderful new position for him that has challenged him and allowed him to be at the head office everyday and travel less. This year Nathan, along with his brother Jason, built our family a raised garden that we were all able to enjoy all summer long. He has been able to be involved in our church in various ways from working with the youth Group, ushering and being a deacon. This year has also brought the opportunity for Nathan to be involved in his dad’s campaign for Governor of Pennsylvania. Will you join us in praying for Sam Rohrer as he seeks to bring integrity back to Government?

Let us leave you with a quote that we feel summarizes this time of year so well:

“If we could condense all the truths of Christmas into only three words,
these would be the words: ‘God with us.’ We tend to focus our attention at Christmas on the infancy of Christ. The greater truth of the holiday is His deity. More astonishing than a baby in the manger is the truth that this promised baby is the omnipotent Creator of the heavens and the earth!” ~ John MacArthur

May God Bless You and Your Family,

The Rohrer Family

Nathan, Shyla, Jackson, Owen and Olivia
